History of the Emily Brunnen Memorial Tournament
The Emily Brunnen Memorial Tournament has seen six winners hold the Emily Brunnen Shield.
Our previous winners

Manchester Mystics - 2024
Manchester Mystics entered the Emily Brunnen Memorial Tournament for the first time in 2024 and won in an impressive display. With the tournament this year played over two days, they showed why they're considered one of the best clubs in England.

Liverpool - 2023
Liverpool Basketball Club have entered the tournament in all four previous years and on multiple times have come close to winning but were unable to claim it. All that change in 2023 when the under 14 Girls team lifted the Shield.

Manchester Swarm - 2022
Manchester Swarm under 14 boys team would take the Shield in 2022 after competing with three other under 14 teams. Only recently established, the team showed out in an impressive tournament where they went undefeated.

Stockport Lapwings - 2021
After a year out due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament returned with three senior women's teams competing for the Shield. It would go onto be won by Stockport Lapwings, a club that was founded in 1963.

Lancashire Spinners - 2019
The second year of the tournament, we had four under 16 girls teams battle it out for the Shield. an impressive Lancashire Spinners, fielding England And Great Britain National team players ran out winners.

North West Select - 2018
In the first year of the tournament, we had Liverpool Under 14 Boys v the Under 13 North West Select team who recently competed as the Basketball England Aspire Tournament. North West would go on to win the Shield in our inaugural competition.
